南島最後一天，先從鹿園開始
南島公路旅行的最後一天，我們先開車到 Deer Park Heights。這裡需要預先在網上預約，自駕進場後，可以另外購買每桶 NZD 2 的飼料餵鹿。跟趕景點相比，這段早晨更像把車速和心情一起放慢，也替後面的高刺激行程留出強烈反差。
在 Kawarau Bridge 完成人生第一次笨豬跳
午餐後來到 Kawarau Bridge，站上全球首個商業笨豬跳地點，準備從 43 米高的平台跳下。真正困難的不是理解安全流程，而是站到邊緣後仍要讓自己向前。
第一次起跳的尖叫和反應都完整留在影片裡。這不是一項適合假裝輕鬆的活動；緊張本來就是體驗的一部分。以我們的經歷來說，跳前不要吃得太飽，也應該為報到、準備和等待留出時間。
Arrowtown 的秋色與 Lake Hayes 的安靜
完成最刺激的一站後，我們轉往 Arrowtown 看金黃色的秋景，再到 Lake Hayes 等日落。湖面平靜得像鏡子，跟幾小時前站在跳台邊的心跳完全是兩個世界，也替南島旅程收出一個安靜的尾聲。
當晚飛抵奧克蘭，最後在 Oyster and Chop 吃生蠔慶祝。若重走這一天，我們仍會保留「鹿園—笨豬跳—秋色與湖景」的次序：情緒從輕鬆推到最高，再慢慢降下來，比單純把四個景點排在一起更完整。
A quiet start to our final South Island day
We began the last day of our South Island road trip at Deer Park Heights. Entry needs to be booked online in advance, after which visitors drive through the park and can buy animal feed for NZD 2 per bucket. The slow morning among the deer created a useful contrast with what we had planned after lunch.
Our first bungy at Kawarau Bridge
At Kawarau Bridge, the world’s first commercial bungy site, we prepared to step from a 43-metre platform. Understanding the safety process was easy. Standing at the edge and persuading ourselves to move forward was the difficult part.
The video keeps the screams and first-jump reactions intact. There is little reason to pretend this is an effortless activity; fear is part of the experience. Based on our day, we would avoid eating a heavy meal immediately before the jump and leave enough time for check-in, preparation and waiting.
Autumn colour and a still lake
After the day’s biggest burst of adrenaline, we continued to Arrowtown for its golden autumn scenery and then waited for sunset at Lake Hayes. The mirror-like water was the opposite of the bungy platform only hours earlier, giving the South Island leg a much quieter ending.
That evening we flew to Auckland and celebrated over oysters at Oyster and Chop. If we repeated the route, we would keep the same order: deer park, bungy, then autumn streets and the lake. The day builds towards its most intense moment and then lets the energy settle naturally.

💡 這座橋建於1880年，原本是淘金熱時期的交通要道。1988年 AJ Hackett 在這裡完成了世界第一次商業高空彈跳跳，一舉催生出全球高空彈跳產業。The bridge was built in 1880 as a crossing during the gold rush era. In 1988, AJ Hackett made the world's first commercial bungy jump here, single-handedly launching the entire global bungy jumping industry.
箭鎮Arrowtown
淘金小鎮，秋天滿城金黃A former gold-rush town, blazing gold every autumn
💡 箭鎮建立於1860年代的奧塔哥淘金熱時期，鎮上至今還保留著一處當年華人礦工聚居的「中國村」遺址，是紐西蘭儲存最完整的早期華人移民聚落之一。Arrowtown was founded during the Otago gold rush of the 1860s, and it still preserves a Chinese Settlement from that era, where Chinese miners once lived — one of New Zealand's best-preserved early Chinese immigrant settlements.
