At just 463 meters, it's modest in height, yet it's one of the most photographed mountains in the world — and it appeared in Game of Thrones as "Arrowhead Mountain."

💡 1970年代克拉夫拉火山噴發前，這裡曾是熱門泡湯地點，噴發後洞穴水溫一度飆到50°C以上，多年不適合下水。這裡也是《權力的遊戲》中瓊恩雪諾與耶哥蕊特洞穴戲的真實取景地。Before the Krafla volcanic eruptions in the 1970s, this cave was a popular bathing spot — but the eruptions pushed the water temperature above 50°C, making it too hot to bathe in for years. It's also the real filming location for Jon Snow and Ygritte's cave scene in Game of Thrones.

💡 「眾神瀑布」的名字來自一個傳說：公元1000年冰島正式改信基督教後，當時的法律宣讀官索爾蓋爾把北歐諸神的雕像丟進了這座瀑布，象徵與舊信仰的告別。The name "Waterfall of the Gods" comes from a legend: after Iceland officially converted to Christianity in the year 1000 AD, the lawspeaker Þorgeir is said to have thrown statues of the old Norse gods into the falls, marking a symbolic break from the old faith.

💡 瓦特納冰川覆蓋了冰島約8%的國土面積，是歐洲體積最大的冰川，冰層下方還藏著好幾座活火山，包括曾多次噴發的格里姆火山。Vatnajökull covers about 8% of Iceland's entire land area, making it Europe's largest ice cap by volume — and hidden beneath the ice are several active volcanoes, including Grímsvötn, which has erupted repeatedly.

Icelanders first convened the Alþingi assembly here in the year 930 AD, and kept meeting on this spot for nearly 900 years.

黃金瀑布Gullfoss

A local farmer's daughter, Sigríður Tómasdóttir, fought to stop it — reportedly threatening to throw herself into the falls in protest — and succeeded in preserving it. She's now remembered as Iceland's first environmentalist.

The beach looks calm, but dangerous "sneaker waves" can surge much farther than expected — always keep a safe distance from the water.

💡 藍湖那片乳白色湖水其實是旁邊斯瓦特森吉地熱發電廠排出的廢水，並非天然湖泊——1980年代當地人發現在這裡泡水能舒緩皮膚病，才意外催生出這座世界知名的溫泉。The Blue Lagoon's milky-blue water is actually runoff from the neighboring Svartsengi geothermal power plant, not a natural lake — locals discovered in the 1980s that bathing in it soothed skin conditions, and the accidental discovery grew into one of the world's most famous spas.

哈格爾大教堂Hallgrímskirkja

💡 教堂從1945年動工到1986年才完工，前後花了41年。設計靈感來自冰島隨處可見的玄武岩柱地貌，尖塔的造型正是模仿熔岩冷卻後形成的六角柱狀節理。Construction began in 1945 and wasn't finished until 1986 — 41 years in the making. Its design draws on the basalt columns found all over Iceland, with the tower's ribbed spire echoing the hexagonal columns left behind by cooling lava.
