把瑞士旅程留在日內瓦湖畔收尾
離開策馬特、前往法國之前，我們先到日內瓦湖畔的 蒙特勒 Montreux。這是十二月瑞士旅程的最後一站，目的也很簡單：逛 Montreux Noël，看看傳說中的飛天聖誕老人是否真的值得等待。
市集沿湖展開，不需要複雜交通，也不必用一張密密麻麻的清單來逛。冬夜的燈光落在湖面，攤位、人群和遠處山景連成一條散步路線；比起趕景點，這裡更適合留一個晚上慢慢走。
我們真的連看了三次 Flying Santa
到了指定時間，聖誕老人駕著亮燈雪橇從湖面上空滑過。表演不長，卻把整個市集的目光一起拉向天空。我們興奮得連續看了三次，每一次仍然會跟著人群抬頭。
市集裡的熱蘋果酒和酸菜醃肉，則替寒冷的晚上補上溫度。它們不是精緻餐廳的一餐，卻很適合站在冬日市集裡邊走邊吃。
從蘇黎世一路走到蒙特勒，這趟旅程最後沒有用另一座雪山結束，而是停在一個有燈光、熱飲和童話感的湖畔晚上。若 Flying Santa 是重點，出發前先核對當日表演時間；其他部分，交給散步就好。
Ending Switzerland beside Lake Geneva
Before leaving Zermatt for France, we stopped in Montreux on the shore of Lake Geneva. It was the final destination of our December journey through Switzerland, with one uncomplicated purpose: wander through Montreux Noël and see whether its famous Flying Santa was really worth waiting for.
The market follows the lakeside, so it requires neither difficult transport nor an aggressive sightseeing checklist. Winter lights reflect on the water while stalls, crowds and mountain scenery form one long walking route. It is the kind of place that works better with an unhurried evening than a tightly planned hour.
Watching Flying Santa three times
At the scheduled moment, Santa crossed above the lake in an illuminated sleigh. The appearance was brief, but it drew the entire market’s attention into the sky at once. We enjoyed it enough to watch three separate times, still looking up with the crowd on every pass.
Hot cider and choucroute gave the cold evening its warmth. This was not a formal restaurant meal, but food eaten while walking between winter stalls felt far more appropriate here.
Our route from Zurich to Montreux ended not with another mountain summit, but with lights, a hot drink and a slightly theatrical lakeside evening. If Flying Santa is your priority, check that day’s performance times before arriving. The rest of the market is best left to a slow walk.
