十三小時航程後，先把第一天走慢一點
從新加坡直飛蘇黎世約十三小時，落地時既興奮又疲倦。我們沒有把抵達日排成一串需要預約的景點，而是先走進 蘇黎世老城區，用半天熟悉城市的街道、建築和冬日節奏。
第一頓正式用餐選了老城內的 Zeughauskeller。長途飛行後，比起追求更多打卡點，坐下吃飯、讓身體跟上當地時間更重要。
從蘇黎世轉到琉森
下午再搭火車前往琉森。這樣安排的好處，是第一天仍看見兩座城市，卻不用拖著行李來回折返。抵達後入住 Hotel Des Alpes，放下行李才去感受旅程中的第一個歐洲聖誕市集。
燈飾、攤位和冬夜的人潮，跟白天的蘇黎世老城形成很自然的轉場。我們沒有急著替每一個攤位做攻略，只是沿著市集和街道慢慢走，讓這個晚上成為真正的「抵達瑞士」。
抵達日應該留多少行程？
這個節奏很適合隔天已有雪山安排的人：白天散步、城市間只移動一次，晚上住在第二天的出發地。雖然疲倦，卻不會因為塞入太多固定行程而增加壓力。第一天的任務不是看完蘇黎世和琉森，而是順利把自己帶進接下來的旅程。
A gentle first day after thirteen hours in the air
Our direct flight from Singapore to Zurich took around thirteen hours. We arrived excited but tired, so we resisted building the day around timed attractions. Instead, we walked through Zurich’s old town, using the first half-day to settle into the streets, architecture and winter pace of the city.
Our first proper meal was at Zeughauskeller in the old town. After a long flight, sitting down and allowing our bodies to catch up with the local time mattered more than squeezing in another sight.
Continuing to Lucerne
Later, we took the train to Lucerne. The sequence let us experience two cities on arrival day without doubling back with our luggage. We checked into Hotel Des Alpes, left our bags and then headed out for our first European Christmas market.
The market lights, stalls and winter-evening crowds felt like a natural transition from Zurich’s daytime streets. We did not try to catalogue every stall. Walking through the market at an unhurried pace was enough to make the evening feel like our real arrival in Switzerland.
How much belongs on an arrival day?
This pace worked well because a mountain day was waiting for us the following morning: gentle sightseeing, one intercity train and a hotel already positioned in the next departure city. We still finished tired, but not stressed by reservations or an overfilled checklist. The point of the first day was not to complete Zurich and Lucerne; it was to enter the trip without exhausting ourselves before it began.

💡 蘇黎世的班霍夫大街 Bahnhofstrasse 是全球最昂貴的購物街之一。老城地標大教堂 Grossmünster 的雙塔，傳說是由查理曼大帝親自下令建造的。Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world. Legend has it that the twin towers of the old town's landmark Grossmünster church were personally commissioned by Charlemagne.

💡 老城地標禮拜橋 Kapellbrücke 建於約1333年，是歐洲現存最古老的木造有頂橋之一。橋上17世紀的天頂畫作大多在1993年一場大火中燒燬，如今看到的多是後來重繪復原的版本。The old town's landmark Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) was built around 1333, making it one of Europe's oldest surviving wooden covered bridges. Most of its 17th-century ceiling paintings were destroyed in a 1993 fire and had to be recreated.
